Venue for January

Hi all.

The venue will be at Room 1.08 for every Monday in January. Timing that the room will be open is from 3pm to 9.30pm.

Also, the concert may have to be postponed by about a week as the venue (LT 1.10) can't be booked due to RMIT lessons. So we are looking at maybe February 4th and 5th, subject to confirmation.

Hope everyone's practicing their songs or just having fun jamming.

Have a blessed New Year.

Change of Venue for the 26th

Hi all,

Do take note there'll be a change in venue on the 26th of October. Instead of Room 1.08 as previously booked, it's now changed to Room 4.18, from 3pm to 9.30pm. Those in the intermediate class, do take note, thanks.

Btw, Ben and I will be starting our first performance session with the singing club tomorrow in the atrium, in conjunction with SIM Wellness Week. Stage's set for a 1.15pm show. Do come and support if you can :)

Schedules for October

Hi all.

Do take note of the following venues for the month of October.

Beginner's Class

1st October 3pm to 9.30pm: 5.28
8th October 3pm to 9.30pm: 5.28
15th October 3pm to 9.30pm: 5.28
22nd October 3pm to 9.30pm: 4.18
29th October 3pm to 9.30pm: 4.07

Intermediate Class

5th October 3pm to 9.30pm: 3.16
12th October 3pm to 9.30pm: 1.08
19th October 3pm to 9.30pm: 1.08
26th October 3pm to 9.30pm: 1.08

Anyone interested in performing? I'm in talks with the singing club to perform with them in school every fortnight on thursdays during lunch hours (1230 to 2). It's gonna be dedication style performances, with an emcee going into the crowd to take requests (from a fixed list of songs). It'll be a change of style for the singing club, who are used to singing with minus one cds only. It's gonna be a very big change for them. So if you wanna perform, give me a shout at the box next door -> I know Clare and Ben are interested already. Surlbo and I are in as well. Is there no one else?

Finally over

Well, the student week's over. To everyone who've helped out in any way, big or small, a big thank you! It's been a crazy couple of weeks preparing for this event, and I would say it turned out well. 3 of our stick "dude" men died or went MIA :( Either they committed suicide by themselves ('spineless' bodies after all, lol), or they were murdered by someone. Hmm conspiracy theories anyone? Lol. Throw them in the side box. I'll post them up later.

Anyway, things will be back to normal for the next couple of weeks. I hope to be able to gather the rest of the club members, those who signed up specifically to perform, to meet up soon and jam and stuff. Anyone and everyone is free to join in :) Will be useful knowledge for those who are interested to find out more about stage management and performance, as well as a bit of sound engineering.

Oh yes, before I forget, NUS' guitar ensemble will be having a free performance on the 26th of September at 8pm, UCC Theatre. Anyone interested to go? It'll be classical music played on the guitar. Well, won't be totally classical. Expect some contemporary music arranged for the classical guitar as well. It'll be a good exposure to another aspect of guitar playing :)

Have a good week ahead.

Have a good weekend ahead :)

Stickman

What you see above is our prototype for the upcoming student week's publicity drive. After 2 hours and 4 A4 cardboard boxes and lots of laughter and digs, our stickman is born! Granted, it/he looks a bit plain at the moment, but we are gonna spruce him up in black, from head to toe, at a later date. Watch out for it/him in school soon :) Btw, do suggest some names in the chatbox to your right ;) Stickman seems a bit plain and drab. Best if it's just one syllable.

Oh yes. Lessons for the intermediate class will be held at room 1.08 later tonight. It's the first room (not the LT) you'll see when you are walking in from the bus stop. See you all later tonight :)

PS. It's teacher's day, so do appreciate your lecturers and wish them well :)
